Directors need to look at themselves and their companies before sending managers on leadership courses. Professor Jackie Ford gave a free Masterclass earlier this month at the School of Management to nearly 30 business leaders. She said that the culture in a large number of companies is often at odds with what is taught on management courses, so only a few managers can practise what they have learnt.
