Directions By Road

From Leeds

Take the A61 from Leeds to Harrogate and as you reach the town, follow signs for Ripon – still the A61 – through Harrogate. Keep straight on, going past shops on your right, and then Betty’s on the left and go down the hill. At the bottom of the hill are traffic lights, with the Royal Hall and Conference Centre on your right. Go straight across the lights and up the hill.

You will pass the Majestic Hotel on your right and then Cairn Hotel, a long spread-out hotel on your left. Turn left down Duchy Road immediately after this. *Go down Duchy Road some way and take the second left – opposite a post box. This is York Road. Rutland Road is the first turning on the right and number 4 is the third house on the right. PLEASE PARK ON THE ROAD and the Coach House is up the drive behind the house.

From Ripon

Take the A61 from Ripon to Leeds. From the Skipton roundabout (where the A59 Skipton Road joins the A61) follow the A61 into Harrogate. Go straight ahead at the first set of traffic lights, then up the hill. As you are reaching the brow of the hill you will pass Kent Road on your right and should then take the next right, Duchy Road, just before the Cairn Hotel. Follow the route marked from Leeds from * above.

From York

Take the A59 road to Harrogate which will join the Harrogate by-pass, the A658. Take the first signposted road into Harrogate, the A661, past the Yorkshire Showground and Sainsburys. Follow the signs for Harrogate town centre – this will take your straight across two sets of traffic lights then to a roundabout. Turn left at the roundabout heading for Harrogate town centre (also signposted for Leeds, at this point). Go through several sets of lights until you join the Leeds to Ripon road, the A61, at another roundabout. Turn right at the roundabout. At this point you pick up the directions from Leeds, above.
