Victoria Tomlinson, chief executive
Victoria was a director at Ernst & Young before setting up Northern Lights in 1989. She is also a director of welcometraining.com and sits on the boards of Bradford University School of Management and Northern Ballet. Victoria was named the CIPR Yorkshire & Lincolnshire’s Outstanding Communicator 2011 for her innovative ebook on social media for business and internship for BAME graduates.
Carol Arthur, senior account director
Carol is a trained journalist and has wide-ranging experience in business, education and consumer markets, including heading up the PR departments of two colleges, the North Eastern Co-operative Society and Northumbria Tourist Board. She is a recent chair of the CIPR’s Yorkshire & Lincolnshire group and sits on the board of mental health charity Leeds Mind and the PR employer advisory panel at Leeds Metropolitan University.
Helen Standing, senior account manager
Helen has an MA in Public Relations and six years’ experience working in consultancy and in-house communications roles. Helen has been named Yorkshire & Lincolnshire’s Outstanding Young Communicator by the CIPR, one of PR Week’s ‘Top 29 under 29’ and a finalist for Some Comms’ brightest social media communicator under 30. She sits on the CIPR regional committee and is a mentor and guest lecturer at Leeds Metropolitan University.
Sandy Welsh, office manager and client services
Sandy worked as media buyer/accounting executive at an advertising/PR agency in Harrogate for four years prior to joining Northern Lights PR. In her native Holland, she worked in recruitment after completing a degree in facilities management.
Sue Perry, client services
Sue previously worked in administration in the higher education sector at Harrogate College and with the Morgan Group in the Middle East running accounting qualifications. She lived in Bahrain for 18 years and has experience in the hospitality, aviation, finance and construction industries.
